Chateau La Foret
LaLande Pomerol
Taste:
This Lalande-de-Pomerol has a nice complexity, is
round, ripe and juicy in the nose. Aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry and blackberry dominate, followed by
hints of cherries and prunes.
If the glass opens up for a while, the aging of the wood
is reflected with notions of vanilla, licorice, smoke,
tobacco and chocolate. The wine has a velvety and
creamy touch in the mouth with silk-like tannins and a
hint of peppermint, licorice and violets.
Grape varieties:
80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10%
Cabernet Franc
Maturation:
The wine enjoyed a wood aging of 16 months in
French oak barrels of which 30% is renewed every
year.
Wine Pairing:
A nice companion for most red meat, sweetbreads,
fried veal liver, poultry, lamb splits and roast rabbit.
About Château La Foret:
The vinification of Château La Foret is under the expert
guidance of Mr. Derenoncourt. This wine has developed
between the Grands Crus Classés of the Bordeaux.
Thanks to the application of agile vinification method, a
delicate balance is achieved between the wood and
the fruit.
Wine region of Bordeaux:
Among the wines of Bordeaux, Pomerol does not claim
the finesse and distinction that can be found at Médoc,
but body and souples are not. This explains why the
wine remains quality in relatively bad and wet years.
Because Pomerol, with its water-permeable soil, is
more resistant to rain than many other wine regions.
